BuzzShine

Content Researcher

You'll find the story buried in the week's economic news, check every number against the source, and write the script and newsletter the rest of the team builds from. You won't be doing it alone.

The Role

This is an equal research-and-production role at BuzzShine. You will find meaningful stories inside economic data, source the evidence behind them, and verify the details before shaping a clear editorial point of view.

You will work directly with primary sources and own the full journey from research through production and audience feedback, turning sound insight into video people genuinely want to watch.

How a week gets made

You · Research

  1. 1Scan the week
  2. 2Find the angle
  3. 3Research and source-check
  4. 4Script the video
  5. 5Write the newsletter

Handover call

Video Editor · Production

  1. 6Edit the video
  2. 7Captions and thumbnails
  3. 8Publish and review
  4. 9Clip the shorts

You own steps 1 to 5. The Video Editor owns 6 to 9. The handover happens in a live conversation, not by dropping a file in a folder.

You won't be working alone

A team, not a solo job

You work alongside the Video Editor and directly with the founder. Each week starts with a planning call where the angle, script and cut are talked through together.

Work with other creators

You'll collaborate with other creators on shared research, guest pieces and cross-posts.

Grow through the work

Every piece gets a feedback round before it ships. You learn through experience and education built into the job, not bolted on.

What You'll Own

  • Mine primary sources: Bank of Korea, IMF, KOSIS, academic journals
  • Verify every figure
  • Build a source log per piece

Writing

  • Draft scripts on a Hook → Story → Takeaway structure
  • Write in a human voice; we screen for it
  • No AI-generated drafts

  • Graduate-level research ability in economics, politics, journalism or a related field
  • Exceptional original English writing
  • High visual literacy and fluency in current short-form formats
  • Working knowledge of Canva Pro

  • Experience explaining complex ideas to non-expert audiences

The Paid Trial

You'll deliver a short sourced research summary, a script, and a short-form video. The trial is paid whether or not we move forward, and the work remains credited to you.

The 9-Month Path

  1. Months 1–3Onboarding & first solo pieces
  2. Months 4–8Full production ownership
  3. Month 9Performance review & full-time offer
