BuzzShine

Video Editor

You'll produce videos that explore the story buried in the week's economic news. This means editing faceless, long-form edutainment using stock footage that aligns with the voice over recording. The rest of the team builds alongside you.

The Role

This is an equal research-and-production role at BuzzShine. You will take a sourced script and a finished voice over and turn them into long-form video people stay with, choosing the footage, pacing and on-screen figures that make each number land.

You will own the full journey from first cut through captions, thumbnails, publishing and short-form clips, then read the audience response and carry what you learn into the next edit.

How a week gets made

Content Researcher · Research

  1. 1Scan the week
  2. 2Find the angle
  3. 3Research and source-check
  4. 4Script the video
  5. 5Write the newsletter

Handover call

You · Production

  1. 6Edit the video
  2. 7Captions and thumbnails
  3. 8Publish and review
  4. 9Clip the shorts

You own steps 6 to 9. The Content Researcher owns 1 to 5. The handover happens in a live conversation, not by dropping a file in a folder.

You won't be working alone

A team, not a solo job

You work alongside the Content Researcher and directly with the founder. Each week starts with a planning call where the angle, script and cut are talked through together.

Work with other creators

You'll collaborate with other creators on shared footage, guest pieces and cross-posts.

Grow through the work

Every piece gets a feedback round before it ships. You learn through experience and education built into the job, not bolted on.

What You'll Own

Editing

  • Cut long-form video to the voice over, beat by beat
  • Match stock footage and images to every line of the script
  • Build on-screen charts and figures from the researcher's source log

Packaging & Shorts

  • Write captions and design thumbnails that earn the click
  • Clip vertical shorts from every long-form video
  • No filler footage: every shot has to match what's being said

Community

  • Monitor comment sentiment
  • Surface what's landing
  • Feed it back into the next cut

You'll deliver the edited video, a caption and a thumbnail. The trial is paid whether or not we move forward, and the work remains credited to you.

The 9-Month Path

  1. Months 1–3Onboarding & first solo pieces
